Rajiv A. Patel, MD, MPH, is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine, completed his Internal Medicine residency at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, and completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School. He also holds a Master of Public Health with a concentration in biostatistics and epidemiology from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.
Dr. Patel has extensive experience caring for patients in hospital, ICU, pulmonary, and critical care settings. His clinical background includes pulmonary and critical care practice in Arizona, New Mexico, and other healthcare settings, with experience managing complex respiratory and critical illness needs.
Dr. Patel is especially interested in Native health and culturally respectful care. He is committed to helping patients better understand their conditions and treatment options, while providing thoughtful, evidence-based pulmonary and critical care.
Dr. Patel is an active Army Reserve physician with the 7453rd Medical Operational Readiness Unit in Mesa, Arizona. His military background includes a deployment to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield. Through this experience, he has developed a deep respect for service members, veterans, and their families, which continues to shape his thoughtful and patient-centered approach to care.
